Биографија
Since 2010, Vidan Dimić has been dedicated to the study of archeotechnology, more precisely the exploitation, processing, use, and circulation of stone raw materials and tools in prehistory, especially the Neolithic of Serbia. He started research related to this topic on polished and abrasive stone tools from the Lađariše site, which he then extended to other Neolithic sites in Serbia. The primary starting points of his research are functional-typological analyses of stone artifacts (technological / life-history approach) as well as the analyses of the raw materials from which these tools were made in prehistoric times. In recent years, the focus of his research has included an archaeological experiment as a complementary segment of archeotechnological studies, an examination of the production process, and the use of stone tools. An important segment of this research is the analysis of traces of use. All these researches, although focused on more or less specific archeotechnological problems, aim at the accumulation of data and experiences that allow us a more reliable interpretation and a better understanding of different communities in prehistoric times, their behavior, exchange of knowledge, skills, and making specific technological choices.
In addition to the above, Vidan also deals with research into prehistoric mining and ore exploitation, which he started in 2013 at the Prljuša - Mali Šturac location on the Rudnik mountain.
