Dragan Milanović was born in 1978. Since 2010 he has been working at the Institute of Archaeology, Belgrade on the Project Archaeology of Serbia: a cultural identity, integration factors, technological processes and the role of the central Balkans in the development of European prehistory. He defended his doctoral thesis in 2017 on "The Central Balkans in the fifth millennium BC: settlement patterns and socio-economic changes". Dragan Milanović is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Archaeology in Belgrade. He is interested in the material culture, settlement, and natural environment of the later prehistory of the Balkans and Carpathian basins (5–3rd millennium BC). He is the director of the Scientific Research Project in the Lower course of the Južna Morava basin (2014–2024), where he is excavating the Late Neolithic/Early Eneolithic Vinča site in Bradarac near Aleksinac (2021–2024). He has been co-director of extensive rescue excavations in Klenak near Šabac (2021–2024). His engagement in Bubanj (2008-2014) and Velika Humska Čuka (2009, 2014 –2024) projects enable the most important book he has published as a co-author Bubanj, The Eneolithc and the Early Bronze Age Tell in Southeastern Serbia, Mitteilungen der Prähistorischen Kommission 90, Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften Philosophisch-historische Klasse, Wien (2020). He co-authored two books and authored and co-authored more than 50 papers and individual book chapters.
