Biografija
Dr Ljiljana Šašić Zorić is a Research Associate at the BioSense Institute with expertise in Genetics. Ljiljana received her BSc and MSc in Molecular Biology from Department of Biology and Ecology, Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad in 2011 and 2012, respectively. In 2018, she received her PhD in biology (genetics) at the same faculty. Her previous research was mostly based on the application of mitochondrial and nuclear sequence based molecular markers in genetic analyses, identification, and delimitation of European Diptera species. Her current research focus is pointed toward (1) application of genomic approaches in molecular taxonomy and systematics of insects, (2) microbiome studies using metagenomic approaches, as well as (3) development of molecular assays for pathogen detection. She is a coordinator of one national project funded by Provincial Secretariat for Higher Education and Scientific Research of Vojvodina, a project team member of LABOUR project funded by Science Fund of Serbia and a part of the mangment team of the H2020 project IPANEMA (GA no. 872662). Previously she participated in one additional national project and two H2020 projects (FlyHigh GA no. 645636, DRAGON GA no. 810775). She is also a team member of the HORIZON Europe project WildPosh (GA no. 101135238) recently accepted for funding.
