Dr. Mikić is an associate professor at the Metropolitan University, Faculty of Management. She holds a Doctoral degree from the University of Belgrade’s Faculty of Economics. With an extensive academic and professional career, she has specialized in the dynamic fields of creative economy, cultural industries and creative industries. Her dedicated work focuses on promoting economic fairness, improving economic well-being in the cultural and creative sectors, and fostering sustainable development within the creative economy. She has made a significant contribution to the global landscape through her work with major organizations such as the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, the World Bank, the Council of Europe, the UNDP, the British Council and the European Commission. Her diverse career spans the fields of research, education and consultancy. Since 2018, Dr. Mikić has been the Head of Research and Development at the Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship and Innovation, leading initiatives that reflect the nature of creative economy. In the dynamic field of creative economy, Dr. Mikić has successfully led over 20 innovative projects. These projects have explored areas such as sensory heritage, economic sustainability and creative tourism.
Author and director of the „Creative Entrepreneurship Serbia” program, one of the five finalists of the UNESCO Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman International Prize for the Creative Economy in 2021. Since 2020, she has been leading the "Creative Glass Serbia" initiative, a visionary project dedicated to the digital transformation of glass heritage. Dr. Mikić is at the forefront of developing new approaches to revitalize glassmaking through creative entrepreneurship. The initiative also includes the application of meta-glass concepts at both the heritage and industry level, along with the curation of immersive art experiences within the glass industry and glass crafts.
