(uređivanje) - International Symposium Women in music was organized with a support of Fondazione Adkins Chiti: Donne in Musica (Italy). It was an improtant step in networking of the institutions and individuals who want to contribute to the promotion of women in music in Serbia and in other countries, and to exchange experiences and knowledge in this field. The focus of the Symposium was on exploring the achievements of women of any historical period and from any geographical ara in the fields of composition, musical performance, music pedagogy, musicology, ethnomusicology. There were 24 participants in WIMIS 2011, the experts from diverse fields (music theory, music pedagogy, musicology, ethnomusicology, composition, sociology, anthropology, history, media study, etc.). Prticipants came from five different countries and showed high quality of presentations and research.
